How to Make a Floral Stand

Floral stands are used to hold single flower pot or an arrangement of flowers. Floral stands benefit your garden by allowing you to display the flowers while opening up space for additional flowers if you desire. These stands can also be decorated to follow a certain theme or motifs that you enjoy within your garden. The floral stand can be of various shapes or sizes to fit your personal garden.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the wooden 2-by-4 planks to create two 12-inch sections for shelves. Use the saw to divide one plank into these two separate sections. These shelves are where the flower pots will sit when displayed.

    • 2

Insert the two shelves between the wooden 2-by-4 planks that will act as the outer casing of the stand. Make sure one shelf is at the bottom and the other shelf is near the top of the stand. This will provide enough spacing for plants to sit on the bottom and top shelves of the stand.

    • 3

Use the marker to mark where the shelves meet the wooden case. Make four marks on each side of the outer casing to represent where the nails will be inserted into the board to hold the selves into place. You should make eight marks in total, four for each shelf.

    • 4

Hold the shelf on the bottom into place and use the hammer to insert the first nails into place. Ensure that everything is lined up correctly before fully hammering the nails into place. Turn the outer casing over and hammer two additional nails into that side of the shelf.

    • 5

Position the flower stand upright. Insert the top shelf into the outer casing and begin inserting the nails into this shelf. Ensure that the shelf is properly aligned on both sides. Hammer the nails into both sides of the shelf.

    • 6

Place flower pots on both shelves to test out the completed flower stand. Ensure that the shelf is not leaning in either direction.

    • 7

Apply paint or wood finish as desired to improve the visual appeal of the flower stand. Once the product dries, position the flower pots on the stand as you desire.
