How to Make a Tulip Basket Decoration

Using a basket for the base of a floral arrangement will give the display a more homey and rustic feel than the traditional glass vase. When springtime rolls around and tulips are in season, create a basket arrangement using tulips. Tulips come in a wide variety of colors, so you can choose a shade that coordinates well with the rest of the colors in the space. Make sure you follow the proper procedure so the basket is not damaged by the plant's water.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a plastic sheeting so it will fit inside the base of the basket. This will prevent water from the plant from seeping out of the basket or damaging it.

    • 2

Secure the plastic to the inside of the basket with waterproof tape.

    • 3

Cut a piece of floral foam so it will sit in the base of the basket. Place the floral foam inside the basket.

    • 4

Cut your tulip stems to the desired length and begin placing them inside the floral foam. Place longer stems in the center of the arrangement and place shorter stems toward the side. This will create an oval arrangement.
