How to Get Rid of Bubbles in Submerged Flower Arrangements

A submerged flower arrangement is a beautiful way to display and highlight the best blooms of the season. The water in the glass magnifies the intricate details of each blossom. Unfortunately, the water also magnifies any bubbles that cling to the petals or glass. If there are unsightly bubbles in your submerged flower arrangement, empty and refill the container to get rid of them.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on a pair of rubber gloves. The gloves will protect the container from oil on your hands.

    • 2

Remove the contents of the submerged flower arrangement, and pour out the water.

    • 3

Wash the interior and exterior of the glass container with soapy water. Small dirt particles on the inside of the container can trap air bubbles. To get rid of air bubbles that cling to the glass, you must clean it. Rinse the container well, but do not dry it with a towel.

    • 4

Rinse the flowers with distilled water if they have begun to dry out, then place them back into the container. When dry flowers are put directly into water, air pockets can form between the tiny, hair-like parts of the flowers.

    • 5

Fill the container with distilled water. Never use tap water. Impurities in tap water and escaping gases cause bubbles to form in the submerged flower arrangement. Using distilled water will prevent bubbles from forming in submerged flower arrangements.
