How to Make a Chrysanthemum Bouquet

The name chrysanthemum is derived from the Greek words "chryos," meaning "gold," and "anthemom," meaning "flower." First developed in China as a type of herb, chrysanthemums are now grown in a wide variety of colors and shades. There are different styles of chrysanthemum blooms, many of which are primarily designed to be decorative, which you can take into consideration when assembling your bouquet of flowers. Where you are located will determine the types and species of fresh chrysanthemums available for you to choose from.

Instructions

    • 1

Soak your fresh chrysanthemum flowers in a preservative solution for several hours. This will help your flowers last longer.

    • 2

Bunch together a section of chrysanthemums. Loosely wrap the floral wire around the stems, starting at the top and working your way to the bottom. Cut the wire when you reach the bottom.

    • 3

Cut a piece of floral tape. Use this to hold the end of the floral wire in place.

    • 4

Hot glue the ribbon to the bottom of the stems. Wrap the ribbon, beginning at the bottom, around the stems, working your way up to the top. Hot glue the ribbon at the top and trim off the extra ribbon.
