How to Store Unplanted Daffodil Bulbs

Keep your unplanted daffodil bulbs viable until you can get them into the ground. Daffodils are a spring bulb which must be planted in the fall before the ground freezes. Occasionally, a hard freeze occurs too early in an area, making digging in the garden impossible. While you cannot plant your daffodil bulbs in the ground in such a case, you should "plant" them in a storage container with peat moss. The moss protects the bulbs from drying out, but this storage is only temporary. You must get the bulbs in the ground as soon as possible.
