When Are Stargazer Lilies in Season?

Popular in bridal bouquets and other formal flower arrangements, Stargazer lilies do well in home gardens. Plant this flower in clumps of three to five bulbs for a low-maintenance yet striking garden addition.
  1. Bloom Time

    • Stargazer lilies bloom in the late summer to early fall. In Minnesota, the flowers bloom in August. The blooms open over a two-week period, perfuming your garden with their lovely scent.

    Planting Time

    • Gardeners plant Stargazer by bulb and can do so either in the spring or fall. Don't hold onto the bulbs once you've got them; buy them in the season you plan to plant and do so thereafter. If you hold onto the bulbs, they'll dry out and become injured or even die.

    Geography

    • This lily hybrid grows in hardiness zones four to nine. It needs full sun to grow and well-draining soil to remain healthy.
