How to Clean Gray Spots Off White Patio Furniture

The tactic you use to remove gray spots from white patio furniture depends, in part, on the type of patio furniture and the type of stain. Gray spots on plastic resin furniture are probably hard water spots; you can remove these with mild acids. Gray spots on painted wood furniture are a bit more problematic, as these stains are probably mildew. Left untreated, mildew can grow underneath the paint, reaching the wood and rotting it.
