Flowtron Instructions

A Flowtron is an electric leaf eater. This outdoor device can shred leaves, grass clippings and pine needles. The leaf eater can be plugged into any electrical outlet and is portable, so you can move it from one part of your yard to another with ease. The unit only requires minimum maintenance. You should clean the machine after each use to prevent debris buildup. Removing and cleaning the air filter will also increase the lifespan of the device.

Instructions

  1. Operating Machine

    • 1

Plug the Flowtron into any electrical outlet and turn on the power switch.

    • 2

Adjust the "Mulching Control Lever" on the bottom of the machine. Setting options include "Fine," "Medium" and "Coarse." The bigger the particle, the higher the setting should be. For example, if you are loading big leaves into the shredder and the setting is at "Coarse," the device will chop the leaves into big pieces. A "Fine" setting cuts the leaves into smaller pieces but takes more time to complete.

    • 3

Gather a pile of leaves (wet or dry), grass clippings or pine needles with your hands and drop them into the Flowtron's opening, also known as the hopper. Wear gardening gloves to prevent your hands from getting dirty or scratched.

    • 4

Wait until the machine is done shredding the pile. Once the motor starts to speed up, add another pile of yard debris to the hopper. Repeat the steps until all the debris is shredded. All debris will fall into the filter. Empty the filter once it is full.

    Cleaning Air Filter

    • 5

Unplug the Flowtron device and make sure it is turned off.

    • 6

Push down and out on the tab on top of the filter cover. This is near the "On/Off" switch.

    • 7

Remove the air filter and rinse it under running water.

    • 8

Allow the air filter to dry completely before putting it back in the machine. Do not run the machine without the air filter, as this may cause the leaf eater to malfunction.
