How to Adjust the Throttle on a Poulan 3500 Chain Saw

The Poulan outdoor equipment company began in 1944, and builds both riding and regular lawnmowers, tillers, trimmers, leaf blowers, snow throwers and chain saws. The Poulan 3050 chainsaw was manufactured from 2002 to 2004, and is one of the most durable and reliable of the Poulan line. The ignition timing device is fixed and non-adjustable, and must be taken to a dealer if a throttle adjustment is necessary. However, there are steps you can take to keep your chainsaw engine running smoothly.

Instructions

    • 1

Move the ON/STOP switch to the ON position.

    • 2

Pull the CHOKE/FAST IDLE lever out as far as it will go, then push it back in completely. This action will set the fast idle lock to the start position.

    • 3

Press the throttle lock-out button before you squeeze the throttle trigger. This prevents any accidental squeezing of the trigger.

    • 4

Squeeze and release the throttle trigger to allow the engine to return to the correct idle speed. The throttle trigger controls the engine speed.

    • 5

Lubricate the bar sprocket hole after each use. Check the fuel mix level, bar lubrication and chain tension. Inspect and clean the bar and check for any damaged or missing parts. Replace the air filter and chain brake after five hours of use. Replace the spark arresting screen after 25 hours of use. Replace the spark plug and fuel filter annually.
