Pull the recoil starter pull cord rope out about 6 inches. Slide the rubber T-shaped handle up the pull rope about 6 inches to expose the knot that holds it in place on the eyehook on the handle. Untie the knot and remove the T-shaped handle. Retie a knot in the pull cord rope so that the pull cord does not get sucked into the recoil starter housing.
