      Pour 4 cups of water into a medium saucepan. Put it on the stove over high heat. Heat the water until it comes to a rolling boil.

      Pour 1 cup of white sugar into the boiling water. Stir it up well until the sugar dissolves.

      Take the pan off the heat and set it aside for a few hours until the water reaches room temperature. Pour the mixture into a clean hummingbird feeder.
