Orbit 62001 Troubleshooting

The Orbit 62001 is a hose faucet timer and valve system manufactured by Orbit Irrigation Products, Inc. This outdoor user-friendly system is a battery-operated hose faucet with a water-resistant design. The Orbit 62001 hose faucet timer and valve comes with a digital interface that enables you to set automatic watering timers at crucial times of the day to protect your lawn and backyard from getting sun scorched or dry. If you are having difficulties with your Orbit 62001, several steps can help you troubleshoot the system.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Start/duration" key on the interface and the system's interface will display the start time you programmed the Orbit system to turn on. If the water does not turn on, this will help you verify if you have the start time set up correctly. If you don't have it programmed for the right time, navigate with the "+" and "-" cursors to set the correct time. Select "AM" or "PM," and press the "Enter" key to record the changes.

    • 2

Replace the batteries if the water still doesn't turn on. When batteries don't have enough power left, you need new batteries to operate the system. In addition, examine the system to verify that you have the hose faucet turned on and that you have the base valve securely connected. Examine the pressure of your hose faucet, and adjust it if it exceeds 80 psi. If the pressure is too high, your system will not turn on.

    • 3

Look on the upper-right corner of the interface where it reads "START." The numbers "1," "2," "3" and "4" display. Each number represents the four available start times you can program. If you have an active timer set, an arrow-like icon displays next to the numbers. If you see more than one arrow displayed, it means you have more than one start time programmed. If you have these times set incorrectly, this may cause your Orbit system to turn on and off at incorrect times.

Replace the batteries if the timer display is blank. If you change the batteries and the display remains blank, you may have a faulty display.

    • 5

Turn on the water to the faucet to operate your Orbit system manually. You can't operate the system manually if you have the water to the faucet turned off. If you have the timer set to the 24-hour inhibit mode, or if the timer is in the system shutdown mode, press "AUTO RUN" to operate your Orbit system manually.
