Instructions

    • 1

Place a ladder next to the roof and use a leaf blower to remove all leaves from the roof and gutter system. Be very careful when doing this and have another person steady the ladder.

    • 2

Walk to one side of the lawn and begin raking up the leaves on the surface of the ground using a clog-free rake. Stretch the rake out onto the ground approximately two feet in front of you and pull it back toward you. Step backward with your feet and pull the rake toward you again. Using this method reduces strain on your back because you do not have to bend and stretch as much.

    • 3

Continue raking using this method and gathering all of the leaves into a single large pile, or multiple smaller piles around the yard.

    • 4

Set the rake aside and put on two leaf scoops by inserting one hand into each strap. Leaf scoops look like large plastic dust pans that fit on your hands. Scoop up large piles of the leaves and place them into a trash bag, a lawn bag or a trash can for disposal.
