Garage Storage for Garden Tools

An organized garage leads to an organized life. By having a system in place for your garden tools, you spend more time getting done what you want and less time looking for hidden items.
  1. Function

    • A workbench with a pegboard above the work surface is the best way to organize small hand tools. A pegboard has pegs that are inserted into predrilled holes. Your garden tools simply hang from the pegs -- easily in sight and very accessible.

    Features

    • Keep your long tools, such as rakes and shovels, along one wall. Install a wall system that allows you to easily place the handles into a slot, where the nonskid surface grips the handle. These units usually hold from three to five long-handled items.

    Storage Baskets

    • Use baskets stacked onto shelving units sized to fit garden supplies, such as potting soil and fertilizer. Smaller baskets can hold gloves, gardener's soap, small pots and seed packets. Choose mesh baskets in durable plastic or powder-coated metal that can be easily washed or hosed down.
