How to Maintain a Nice Mobile Home Lot

Tidy up your home's exterior. Power wash the home. Repair or replace damaged skirting. Clear the gutters of leaves, sticks and other debris. Replace missing or damaged roofing. The home itself is the first thing people see, so the impression it gives will carry over to people's impressions of the lot.

Paint or stain your porch. If you have a deck that's raised more than a foot or two off the ground, enclose the bottom with lattice.

Keep the lawn neatly mowed. Trim the edges for a manicured look. Spread grass seed in the spring and fall to fill in bare spots. If your lot is too shady for a lush lawn, consider replacing the grass with gravel and patio stones.

Place potted plants on each side of your door and along the walkway, if you have one.

Create flower beds around the perimeter of your home and maintain a garden throughout the growing season.

Mulch your garden beds with natural-colored material. Spread a one-foot-deep band of mulch around your trees to give the impression that you've had your lot professionally landscaped.

Place rocks, bricks or border fencing around your garden beds and trees. Natural colors and materials are always appropriate, but white is a fresh, clean addition that provides a nice contrast to flowers.

Keep gravel driveways and walkways neat. Pull weeds that pop up between the rocks. Add gravel as needed to keep the surfaces completely covered.

Accessorize your lawn. A birdbath, bench and garden ornaments create whimsical charm.
