What to Do With Side Yard Space?

A beautiful yard will make your yard adored by your neighbors but an un-kept yard can be a nuisance. Doing something with side yard space may seem like a daunting task but with professional tips and the right accessories an ordinary side yard can become an outdoor sanctuary. When you've run out of creative ideas when it comes to your side yard there are a few things you can do to bring it back to life.
  1. Create an outdoor living space.

    • Add an outdoor room to your side yard. Add wicker chairs, a wicker table and some outside tiki lights. Border your room with your favorite large plants and shrubs and this can be your quiet place to retreat in your own yard.

    Make a garden

    • If your side yard gets plenty of sunlight plant a vegetable garden. You can choose to plant your garden in the ground or in planting boxes. Choose seasonal vegetables and pick vegetables that your family will love. Be sure to invest in products that will keep weeds and insects under control.

    Build a gazebo

    • A small wooden gazebo is an attractive addition to your side yard.

Gazebos are practical additions to side yards. You can build your own, or buy either a permanent or removable model. Permanent gazebos can house patio furniture and grills, while removable gazebos act as shelter during outdoor entertaining.

    Add fountains

    • Bring the calming essence of water to your side yard space. Add a fountain, benches and even speakers to create a soothing space where you can take in the natural beauty of your yard.
