How to Troubleshoot a Turf Tiger Mower

The Turf Tiger is a model of riding lawnmower by Scag Power Equipment. The Turf Tiger features a large, 10-gallon fuel tank and can reach up to 12 mph along flat ground, making your mowing experience fast and efficient. Riding mowers like the Turf Tiger are effective for mowing larger residential properties and commercial properties. Sometimes, your mowing job isn't quite what you'd envisioned due to a minor issue with the mower. Try quick troubleshooting techniques before calling for service if you run into problems.

Instructions

    • 1

Run the mower at full RPM but lower the traveling speed if you see strips of uncut grass after you've gone over a patch. Clean grass or leaves from the underside of the mower and try to overlap rows a little more.

    • 2

Check the cutting blade to ensure it isn't upside down if you're getting an uneven cut on level ground. The cutting edge should point toward the ground. Adjust the angle of the blade and have it sharpened if it isn't upside down.

    • 3

Reduce your mowing speed and raise the cutting height if the mower is cutting grass unevenly over uneven ground. Try changing the direction you are cutting in as an alternative.

    • 4

Adjust the pressure on the tires so they are all the same if you leave a ridge across the width of the cutting path. Raise the cutting height along with adjusting the tires if the mower is cutting into the dirt.
