Place a stake or flag to mark each sprinkler location and use string to mark where the pipe will run.
Dig trenches along the path you laid out with your string. Continue to mark the spots where the sprinklers will go with stakes or flags. You should dig 6 to 12 inches. Local tool rental stores often have "power trenchers" to help make this easier.
Attach the sprinkler hoses to your water supply. Your Rain Bird Dealer can help you ensure you have the correct connections for your local codes and conditions. Place the sprinklers and connectors at each stake/flag location.
Start assembling the pipes and connectors. Attach the pipes to each other using PVC cement along the insides of the fitting to hold them together. Do not connect the sprinkler itself until everything else is put together.
Flush the system to remove any dirt that got into the pipes by turning on the water and then operating each valve manually to flush thoroughly. Open each valve to flush each pipe with water and then close it.
Attach the sprinklers to the valves.
Test the sprinkler system to be sure it is working properly and adjust if needed. When everything is working right, bury the pipe.
