How to Tow a Trailer With a Scag

Scag Power Equipment has been manufacturing lawn equipment since 1983. Their zero-turn riding mowers make navigating even the most complex lawn a simple procedure, turning 360 degrees on the spot. If your Scag mower is equipped with the optional trailer hitch, you can tow a small utility trailer that has a ring-style coupler. The Scag can tow a trailer and cargo that weights up to 250 lbs.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the weight of the trailer by looking at its data plate. The trailer weight plus cargo must be less than 250 pounds to be safely towed with the Scag.

    • 2

Reverse the Scag up to the trailer aligning the hitch with the trailer's coupler.

    • 3

Insert the coupler around the hitch and insert a hitch pin through the trailer's coupler and mower's hitch. Lock in place with a cotter pin through the bottom of the hitch pin.
