How to Remove a LOOP-LOC Cover

A LOOP-LOC swimming pool cover is a little different than a standard vinyl pool cover. As the name suggests, a LOOP-LOC cover is locked in place; most vinyl pool covers simply sit atop the water and maybe over the sides of your swimming pool to keep out debris. The main feature of a LOOP-LOC cover is safety. The locking mechanism is so tight that children and animals can't get inside the water as long as the cover is secure.

Instructions

    • 1

Skim dirt and debris from the surface of the LOOP-LOC cover and suction off any water using a pool pump.

    • 2

Position the installation rod so that it's facing the LOOP-LOC cover.

    • 3

Slide the rod carefully over the anchor bolt and press it down while rotating. Continue rotating until the rod's heel is directly in between the retaining ring and the anchor bolt of the cover. This usually takes about a 180-degree turn.

    • 4

Slide the training ring toward the LOOP-LOC cover. Stop sliding when the ring comes off the bolt. When this happens, the pool cover can be removed. Slide the cover off carefully so that no dirt on the top surface gets into the pool water.
