Instructions for an Oval Above Ground Pool

Whether your pool is oval, circular or any other shape, the assembly instructions are similar. It's most important, with any shape, to choose a proper area and construct the pool correctly. Proper assembly means your pool is safe for you and your family to enjoy throughout the swimming season. A poorly constructed pool can permanently damage the pool and possibly cause harm to those using it.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the ground cloth, if your model has one, over the ground where you wish to locate the pool. Always select an area free of tree roots, obstructions and sharp objects.

    • 2

Lay the liner on top of the ground cloth. Leave it in the sun until it feels evenly warm before you continue with assembly.

    • 3

Construct the pool walls by connecting all the beams, rails and posts to the wall or into a pool liner. Some pools have horizontal and vertical posts that connect either by snapping together or with a pin. Other models have a frame that is screwed together and a liner is secured to the frame with plastic coping.

    • 4

Close all the inlet, outlet and drain valve plugs on the pool to prevent the water from escaping when you start filling the pool.

    • 5

Check that the posts, beams, rails and any other connecting pieces are secured tightly.

    • 6

Push out the liner to smooth it out while you fill the pool.
