How to Install CoverPro Spa Covers

CoverPro spa covers are designed to make it easier to use your outdoor spa or hot tub. Anyone who has ever lifted a spa cover by themselves, especially in the winter or after a good soaking rain, can appreciate the convenience of simply pushing a button to lift the cover automatically. A spa cover helps keep the tub debris-free and can aid in lowering the costs associated in heating a spa by keeping the heat inside when not in use. Installing a CoverPro spa cover only takes a couple of simple hand tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Verify that the contents in the box match what you have on your contents list. You should have two brackets, two grip bars, two cables, two rubber gaskets, two hand grips, two o-rings and one package of assorted screws.

    • 2

Remove the ties from around the grip bars using a knife or scissors, then slide the o-rings up onto the pending arm assembly.

    • 3

Slide the hand grips just past the button spring on each pending arm, leaving the spring exposed.

    • 4

Install a loop of the safety cable on the ends of both pending arms.

    • 5

Slip a hand grip bar on each pending arm and move the o-ring down to meet flush against it. Ensure that the flat sides of the pending arm are aligned perfectly.

    • 6

Find the keyway coupler on the inside of the spa cover and press the vinyl against the coupler opening. Cut an "X" in the center of the coupler using the knife. Open the cut vinyl section and insert a rubber gasket onto the keyway coupler. Press the gasket firmly into place. Repeat on the other side of the cover.

    • 7

Align the flat part of the hand grip bar with the keyway coupler, sliding it into place on the coupler. Press the button spring down to allow the grip bar to align properly. Repeat for the other keyway coupler.

    • 8

Move the pending arm to the desired length for your spa cover. Secure the VersaMount bracket to the deck of the cabinet using the provided screws. Repeat the process for the other pending arm and bracket.

    • 9

Drill a 5/32-inch hole into the pending arm's pilot hole using a drill to attach the hand grip bars to the pending arms. Insert screws and tighten them to attach the pending arm to the hand grip bar. Repeat for the other pending arm.

    • 10

Compress the rubber gaskets against the spa cover to move the foam hand grips into place.

    • 11

Adjust the spa cover to the upright stored position and attach the safety cables horizontally to the upper cabinet using the provided screws; the cables should have some slack to them when properly attached.

    • 12

Insert a machine screw and washer into the VersaMount bracket's threaded hole to secure the spring leg in the down position, thus aiding with the automatic lift. Repeat on the other VersaMount bracket.
