How to Hook Up the Polaris Turtle

The Polaris Turtle is an automatic pool cleaning device that eliminates the need to vacuum the floor of a pool. It's powered by a pool return line to siphon debris on the pool floor into a mesh debris bag. Installing the Turtle requires removing one return fitting and replacing it with the provided universal attachment. The procedure to accomplish this is straightforward.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the pool pump. Choose the return where you want the Turtle installed. It should be roughly in the center of the pool so the Turtle can reach the entire floor without problems. Choose the return closest to the pool pump if two center returns exist.

    • 2

Fit the return removal tool provided with the Turtle over the return eyeball and turn it clockwise until the fitting pulls away from the wall. Thread the universal wall fitting into the return line, using the return removal tool, until snug.

    • 3

Thread the filter screen into the universal wall fitting. Clip the quick-disconnect fitting onto the universal wall fitting over the top of the screen.

    • 4

Adjust the sweeping hose to fit the length of your pool by turning the hose connectors counterclockwise to release sections of unwanted hose length. The hose should reach roughly 4 feet from the wall at the farthest point from the return in the deep end.

    • 5

Submerge the Turtle, cleaning head first, in the pool and attach the loose end of the hose to the quick-disconnect fitting. Turn on the pool pump.
