How to Use Durawhite Plaster Marble Mix

The crystal clear water of a swimming pool is an inviting addition to any backyard. Adding marble white plaster is a means of accentuating the blueness of the water while sealing the sides. Durawhite, a plaster marble aggregate, creates a smooth finish inside a pool and is simple to apply. The sheen of the product is seen through the water, and its smooth surface is easy to clean.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the mask over your mouth and the gloves on your hands. Make sure to wear old clothing you won't mind getting dirty.

    • 2

Combine the powdered mixture with water, according to the instructions on the bag, in the power mixer. Turn on the machine, and ensure the two materials are completely combined.

    • 3

Place the mixed plaster in a wheel barrow, and bring it down to the bottom of the pool.

    • 4

Apply a 3/8-inch thick layer of plaster using the trowel, and smooth it completely. Allow it to completely dry.

    • 5

Spread on a second, thin layer -- 1/4-inch thick. Smooth it again. Allow it to completely dry again.

    • 6

Brush the plaster with a brush, throughout the entire pool, two times a day for the first week when it is full. This will remove any excess dust from the plaster. Brush the sides every week for the next three months, until the plaster is cured.
