Installation Directions for a Hayward Cl100 Automatic Chemical Feeder

Although a pool can be a great way to add value to your home and a way to stay cool during the warm summer months, maintaining your pool can prove to be time-consuming. The Hayward Cl100 automatic chemical feeder is a device you can install in your pool to automatically add chlorine to the water to keep it clean. You will need to connect the Cl100 to the pipes running to your pool for it to work properly.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Cl100 onto a surface close to the pump and filter for your pool and above water if possible. Mark the pipe that runs from the pump to the filter for the inlet connection of the unit. Mark the pipe that runs from the filter or the heater to the pool for the outlet connection.

    • 2

Measure a length of tubing that will run from the location of the inlet connection to the unit and cut it to that length. Do the same for the tubing that will run from the location of the outlet connection to the unit. Insert the tubing into the connection point labeled "Inlet" and "Outlet" on each side of the Cl100 and wrap the tape around the connections.

    • 3

Use the drill to make a 3/8-inch hole in the location of the inlet connection you marked on the pipe in Step 1. Clean out any shavings left over after drilling the hole and insert the saddle fitting and gasket into the hole. Place the clamp around the saddle fitting and tighten it until the fitting is secure in the pipe.

Repeat Step 3 for the location of the outlet connection you marked in Step 1. When the fittings are inserted into both pipes, insert the tubing from the inlet and outlet sides of the Cl100 into the fittings and use the provided compression nuts to secure the tubing in place.
