# How to Vacuum an Intex 18-Foot-by-48-inch Metal Frame Pool
Vacuuming a swimming pool is a necessary chore to keep a pool clean and free of algae. Intex pools are soft-sided, with the skimmer attaching to the side. Cleaning a pool every day takes only a few minutes and will help the chemicals in the pool work better. The Intex 18-foot-by-48-inch pool comes with the deluxe maintenance kit for easy cleaning. This kit contains three of the four essential parts for vacuuming the pool.
Things You'll Need
- Telescoping rod
- Vacuum head attachment
- Vacuum hose
- Intex filter, pump and skimmer kit installed

Insert the telescoping rod into the vacuum head attachment.

Attach the vacuum hose to the vacuum head.

Remove the basket and floating cover from the surface skimmer.

Insert the debris bag into the cleaner body container and insert the cleaner body into the surface skimmer. Turn the container to the right to connect it to the skimmer.

Place the telescoping rod with the vacuum head attached into the pool.

Insert the other end of the vacuum hose into the pool below the surface. When the bubbles stop, insert the hose into the top of the cleaner body container in the surface skimmer.

Turn on the filter and pump.

Slowly move the vacuum over the bottom and sides of the pool.
