Use a squeegee on a daily basis to remove excess water from the tiles surrounding the pool.
Check the chemical levels in your pool to make sure mildew, algae, and calcium deposits do not form in your pool.
Use a pool brush once a week to remove deposits or dirt from the pool tiles. Start by draining the pool so the tiles you wish to clean are exposed.
Obtain a strong muriatic (hydrochloric) acid solution or acid wash from your local pool store when calcium and limestone deposits appear.
Drain the pool to expose the tiles that need to be treated.
Put on old work clothes, rubber gloves, and eye protection before handling the acid wash.
Apply a small amount of the acid wash, using the sponge, to one corner of a tile to see how the tile reacts to the chemical.
Continue cleansing the tile and grout if the wash does not appear to damage the tiles. The wash does not need to sit on the tiles, so work in small sections so you can rinse each tile after cleaning.
Wring out any water and excess wash from the sponge into a bucket.
