Turn off the junction box's main power supply. Unscrew the screws that secure the junction box's cover plate in place. Test the wires inside with a circuit tester to be sure they're not hot. Squirt some pool tile cleaner down the conduit opening in the junction box to help guide the cable through.
Run some fish tape down the conduit from the junction box until it extends about 6 inches out of the light niche. Lay the light fixture in the pool. Wrap the cable's end around the fish tape. Reel the fish tape in until the cable comes all the way through the conduit and is 6 to 8 inches inside the junction box.
Remove the fish tape from the cable. At the pool side, wrap the extra cable up and place it inside the niche. Do not cut the cable to make it shorter. Insert the light fixture into the niche and line up the fixture's screw hole with the niche's screw hole. Use the supplied screw to secure the fixture to the niche.
Return to the junction box. Strip the outer rubber coating and paper insulation from the cable extending into the box, using a wire strippers. Separate the black, white and green wires. Strip 1/2 inch of rubber coating off each wire.
Hold the fixture's black wire together with the junction box's black wire. Twist a wire nut over the connection. Repeat with the two white wires and the two green wires. Place the cover back on the junction box and replace the screws you removed in Step 1. Restore electricity.
