Instructions

  1. Pump Does Not Prime

    • 1

Open the T-valves, located on the water circulation lines on either side of the spa’s power pack, by pulling up on the handles and securing them with the security clips. If your Emerald spa has two pumps, there will be two additional T-valves on either side of the booster pump as well. The pump will not prime if the T-valves are in the closed position.

    • 2

Check the water level in your tub. It should be just above the door on the filter basket. If there is not enough water, the pump may not prime.

    • 3

Turn off your spa to bleed the lines if these steps have not resolved the problem. Air locks will prevent the pump from priming and must be bled from the system.

    • 4

Unscrew and remove the filter caps using the filter key provided with your Emerald spa if you have a dual filter unit. This releases air naturally trapped inside when the spa is filled.

    • 5

Replace the filter caps when the water level inside the filter housing reaches the level of the water inside the spa. Tighten the caps with the filter key and turn on your spa.

    • 6

Turn the spa on at low speed if you have a single filter unit. Turn the bleeder screw located on top of the filter lid 1/2 turn counterclockwise to release the air. Close the valve when you no longer see water coming out.

    • 7

Contact a technician for service if troubleshooting does not resolve the problem. There may be a problem within the pump itself that needs repair.

    Jets Malfunctioning

    • 8

Turn off the power to your spa at the circuit breaker. Open the filter housing using the filter key or hold down the lock mechanism on single filter units and turn the outer ring counterclockwise to open.

    • 9

Remove the filter elements and spray each with a garden hose to remove dirt and debris.

    • 10

Soak the elements in a solution of water and filter cleaner solution to remove scale, oils and other contaminants.

    • 11

Rinse the elements thoroughly and replace the filter elements back in the housing and secure the filter lids.

    • 12

Turn the power back on and press the Mode key on your control panel. Hold for ten seconds and release. Your spa will resume after about 30 minutes. If the filter was the problem, the jets should operate normally.

    • 13

Press the pump key on the keypad to prime the pump if cleaning the filter does not start the jets. The pump is primed when the jets begin to operate.

    • 14

Turn off the power if the jets do no activate within about two minutes of priming and remove the filter caps. This releases air naturally trapped inside when the spa is filled.

    • 15

Replace the filter caps when the water level inside the filter housing reaches the level of the water inside the spa.

    • 16

Contact a technician for service if troubleshooting does not resolve the problem. There may be a problem within the pump itself or your jet nozzles that needs repair.
