How to Fix a Hole in a Vinyl Spa Lid

Vinyl repair kits are found at most any spa store and effectively fix the hole in a vinyl spa lid. The patches come in multiple colors to closely match the shade of various lids. Each kit comes with a strong adhesive. Once the patch is applied, the lid is ready to use within a day after the patch has sufficient time to adhere.

Instructions

  Clean the hole and the area around it with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or residue. An adhesive patch does not adhere to dirty vinyl properly. Dry the lid after cleaning it.

  Cut a patch twice as large as the hole. Round any square corners or cut the patch into a circle or oval.

  Apply the glue evenly to the back of the patch. Do not apply too much glue. The glue will spread out from under the patch when applied.

  Place the patch over the hole. Apply pressure to all areas of the patch to adhere it completely. Press out any air bubbles.

  Apply even pressure to the patch for about 30 seconds.

  Allow the patch to sit overnight so it has time to properly adhere.
