How to Recalibrate a Pressure Switch on a Hot Tub

The pressure switch in your hot tub is a component designed to close the circuit when the required water pressure is reached. When the circuit closes, the heater can operate. There is a dial on the front of the switch which controls the settings. This dial can be switched to compensate for static or "head" pressure. Switching the dial to the appropriate setting calibrates the switch.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the breaker box near the hot tub and open it. You will notice the pressure switch wheel assembly inside the box next to the thermometer.

    • 2

Turn the adjustment wheel on the front of the pressure switch counterclockwise until it can't go any further. The heater on the hot tub will then turn on.

    • 3

Turn the wheel clockwise until it won't go any further. The heater in the hot tub will then shut off.

    • 4

Turn the wheel counterclockwise one revolution. Then turn it one half revolution more in the same direction. The hot tub pressure switch will then be calibrated.

    • 5

      Close the breaker box panel.
