How to Troubleshoot Pool Water Levelers

A pool water leveler is an accessory that you can install in your pool to ensure the water level is always where you want it to be. A transmitter and a float that contains a receiver monitor the water level. When the pool water level gets below the level you specify, the leveler automatically refills it. If you notice that the water leveler isn’t performing how you would like it, try performing some small troubleshooting fixes before you call your pool dealer.

Instructions

    • 1

Inspect the transformer to ensure it is plugged securely into the outlet, and check that the power supply is still on, if the LED light on the unit has stopped blinking.

    • 2

Inspect the float and remove any obstructions from around it, if the transmitter isn’t sending the signal to refill the pool. Ensure the float moves freely, then check for a signal. Clean out the float chamber with the brush provided with your unit and flush it out with water, if you still don’t have a signal.

    • 3

Reprogram the receiver and transmitter, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, so they are on the right frequency to communicate with one another, if the signal isn’t being sent. Replace the batteries to ensure you have full power.

    • 4

Reposition the receiver so it’s closer to the transmitter and in a direct line of sight, if the signal is muffled or doesn’t remain strong. Set the receiver so the antenna is slightly higher than the pool skimmer, and through the hole in the lid of the skimmer.
