How to Install a Jacuzzi on a Wood Deck

Install a jacuzzi on a wood deck to keep it directly accessible from your home. Slip out onto the deck for a dip, even in the winter, because the tub sits so close to the house. Before installing the jacuzzi you need to determine if the deck is equipped to hold the weight of the tub. When moving the jacuzzi onto the deck, you need plenty of help to heft the tub into its position.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact the jacuzzi dealer to find out the filled weight of the tub.

    • 2

Consult with a building contractor to determine the deck's maximum load capacity. The jacuzzi's filled weight can't exceed the capacity of the deck. Get advice from the contractor on how to modify the deck, if necessary, to properly support the weight of the jacuzzi.

Place the jacuzzi sideways on top of two appliance dollies to move it onto the deck. It requires at least two people to lift the corners of the tub and set it down on top of the dollies. Secure the straps around the tub. Use a ramp to move the tub from the ground, onto the stairs and up to the top of the deck.

Position the jacuzzi on the deck with all connections and drains accessible. Direct the drain away from the tub, foundation and all other structures. Place any electrical connections near the home's electrical outlet. Keep all plumbing and electrical panels on the tub in plain view so they are easily accessible for repairs.
