Robo-Kleen Above-Ground Electric Pool Cleaner Repair

Check the Robo-Kleen's power supply. The motion of the unit could have caused the power cord to become loose in the outlet or at the poolside power adapter. Make sure the "On/Off" switch on the power adapter is turned on to begin operating the unit.

Pull the Robo-Kleen out of the pool by the power cord until it reaches the surface, and fish it out by hand. Unplug the power from the outlet and inspect the part of the front axle visible from the outside. Remove the limit screw on each side if you own an oval shaped pool. The Robo-Kleen is preset to operate in a circle; removing the screw enables the unit to better clean your pool. Pull off any hair trapped around the axles with a pair of tweezers.

Turn the unit over, and push the bottom cover's locking tabs to the side to release the cover. Pull off the bottom cover to remove the attached filter bag. Pull on one of the red tabs to detach the bag from the bottom cover. Turn the filter inside out and rinse it thoroughly under running water before putting it through the washing machine on a regular cycle. Rinse the brushes on the bottom of the Robo-Kleen, and place the filter bag back in position, furry side inward. Starting at one corner, work your way around tucking the edges of the bag into the groove on the inside of the bottom cover and aligning the red tabs. Snap the lower cover back in position when you are finished.

Remove the pair of screws securing the top cover, and lift it off the Robo-Kleen. Clean out hair or lint trapped around the impeller blade with a pair of tweezers. Hair in the pool can become wrapped around the blade and cause a drop-off in efficiency. Never carry out this step with the power connected. Replace the cover and screws when the blade is clear.
