Jetted tubs require regular cleaning, inside and out. Bath oils, soap, skin cells and other contaminants can build up in the tub with regular use and circulate through the jets, leading to bacteria growth on tub surfaces and inside the jet piping. When used regularly, chlorine bleach can help control bacteria growth and minimize the formation of biofilm, a slimy substance that harbors bacteria and is resistant to most conventional cleaning products. Before applying chlorine bleach to your tub, confirm with the tub manufacturer that bleach is safe for use on your specific model.
