How to Take Apart a Jacuzzi From a Wood Casing

A wood-enclosed Jacuzzi gives the spa a built-in look. It's assembled with pressure-treated wood or cedar, held together by strong wood screws or bolts. It's usually a semi-permanent construction that must be disassembled if the wood becomes damaged or you want to move the Jacuzzi. Over time the wood expands and contracts, sometimes making taking apart your hot tub's casing more challenging.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the Jacuzzi. Drain the water, per the manufacturer's instructions. Unplug the power cord. Disconnect any other electrical or plumbing connections.

    • 2

Loosen and remove all screws or bolts with a screwdriver or wrench. Set aside the hardware.

    • 3

Remove and set aside any pieces of the casing and surround attached by the screws or bolts.

    • 4

Insert a pry bar between a seam where remaining wood sections connect. Push up on the bar to move the sections apart. Repeat with all of the wood sections until all of the walls and framing are removed. Set the wood sections aside.
