Removing Soap From a Swimming Pool

Accidentally dropping detergent or a bar of soap in your pool can be disastrous as soap bubbles form and the pH of your pool gets thrown off balance. Before your pool can return to normal operating condition, the soap needs to be completely removed. Once the soap is gone, you can add the necessary chemicals to restore the pool's alkalinity and mineral levels, which are essential to returning your pool's pH to an appropriate level.

• Skimmer
• White vinegar
• Spray bottle

     Skim the surface of the water to remove any large clusters of soap bubbles. You should be able to remove the majority of the soap by hand with the skimmer.

     Mix a solution of 2 cups white vinegar and 2 cups water in a spray bottle.

     Spray any remaining bubbles in the pool with the solution to eliminate them. Only spray as much as you have to, otherwise the vinegar will alter your pool's pH more than it already is and will require you to use additional products to adjust it.
