Whether you are looking for a fun way to cool off in the summertime or to give the pool a purpose in the off season, these devices are sure to entertain. Since there are many styles of ornamental fountain heads to choose from, everyone’s personal fountain is sure to be a special creation. Although a custom-made fountain is relatively simple to build and install, its ornate water show will trick guests into thinking otherwise.

  Choose a location of your swimming pool to set the fountain. Although it will be easier to set up the fountain in a more shallow section of the pool, you can decide to place it anywhere you want.

  Connect a long fountain head on the top end of a powerful fountain pump. Research different sprayers to find the water display that suits your style.

  Set the pump on the bottom of a relatively shallow portion of the pool so that the fountain head breaches the surface. If you desire to place the fountain in the deep end, you will need a longer pump head fixture.

  Run the electrical cord away from the poolside to a dry location and plug in the pump. Do not turn on the pump until the device has been fully submerged.

  Cover the cord with a rubber mat to protect your poolside guests and the fountain itself. Adjust the fountain head to control the height of the fountain’s spray.
