Cut a 24-inch piece of 1-by-10-inch board with a saw.
Place a 2-inch PVC flange in the center of the board, and mark the bolt holes with a pencil.
Drill a 1/4-inch hole through each pencil mark.
Sand the wood surface with 80-grit sandpaper to remove any splinters.
Bolt the flange to the wood surface with 2-inch-long, 1/4-inch-diameter bolts and nuts.
Sand the end of a 2-inch PVC pipe with 80-grit sandpaper to prepare it for glue. The length of the pipe depends on how far you need it to reach.
Apply a bead of PVC glue into the flange, then insert the sanded end of the pipe. Wipe off any excess PVC glue with a paper towel.
Allow the glue to dry for the time recommended on the bottle.
