How to Install Temporary Concrete Barriers

Temporary concrete barriers are used in security situations, to control vehicle traffic and to control crowds. Municipal governments and law enforcement agencies often use temporary concrete barriers as a means of controlling and directing traffic during large public events, or in situations that present the risk of disorder such as large protests. Temporary concrete barriers are easily moved with large equipment, but are heavy enough that they can't be moved or stolen by individuals.

Instructions

    • 1

Identify the locations where the temporary concrete barriers will be installed. Because they require heavy equipment, a plan should be made prior to moving them to minimize the required use of the equipment.

    • 2

Back a truck up to the location with the concrete barriers in the back.

    • 3

Lift the concrete barriers out of the back of the truck with a backhoe or small crane, and set them into their assigned locations.
