LED Lights for Water Features

Illuminate your water feature with LED lights designed to work underwater. LED lights come in a range of shapes, sizes, styles and colors, which means they will work with projects of any scope and size. Whether you choose to add soft white light or a myriad of rainbow hues, options exist. Consider the decor of the room in which the water feature is found when determining the direction of the water feature's lighting.
  1. Submersible LED

    • Look for submersible LED options for lighting a waterfall. Whether the waterfall is indoors or out, you have options for lighting. Submersible LED lights come in a range of diameters and colors. One idea is to look for an LED with color-changing features. This style of LED comes with a controller that allows you to set the light on a certain color or a multicolor timed display. The cords for this style of light are submersible and most of them will work in or out of water.

    Submersible Rings

    • Submersible ring LED lights provide a bright ring of light ideal for centered fountains. Install the LED ring at the base of the water source and it will shine upward to illuminate the water. Add smaller versions to each water spout. Or, for a large fountain with a single spout, use one of the larger variants to light up the fountain. Whether you choose to use the LED ring for the season or primarily for parties is a matter of personal taste. The lights are low voltage and can be unplugged whenever required.

    Submersible Tea Lights

    • Light up a tabletop fountain with submersible LED lighting. Whether you purchase a tabletop fountain or make one yourself, you can finish it with a number of LED lighting options. Look for tea lights, diamond shapes and other colorful designs. The submersibles are battery operated and inexpensive. Add a collection of the lights to the basin of the fountain, where they will float as they reflect light. Look for plain white varieties or colored options including red, purple, yellow, green and blue.

    Other Ideas

    • Look beyond the standard LED ideas and you will find a collection of novelty designs. One idea is to add LED rocks to the edge of a pond or other water feature in your garden or yard. Place two or three of the rocks interspersed with the rest of the landscape to add a little flare. You can also add decorative solar LED spikes to the edge of a water feature. The light will reflect off of the water in a range of colors and designs.
