About Rion Greenhouses

Rion Greenhouses are attractive and functional. The barn-style roof suits most landscapes and provides more headroom than standard flat-roofed greenhouses and they are built with sturdy resin frames and polycarbonate panels. Rion Greenhouses have been tested for wind speeds up to 80 miles per hour and snow loads up to 100 lbs. They are available in several models and prepackaged sizes to accommodate both hobby gardeners and professional gardeners.
  1. Frame

    • The frame of a Rion Greenhouse is made of large-diameter UV-protected resin that snaps together with "push-n-fit" connectors. Resin frames do not bend or warp like aluminum frames, nor do they rot or weather like wood frames. The kits are easy to assemble without any sawing, drilling or tools, and include simple to follow directions.

    Panels

    • The roof of a Rion Greenhouse is constructed of 4-millimeter opaque panels. The walls are built of 4- or 6-millimeter single-walled clear or twin-walled opaque polycarbonate panels. Clear panels allow 90 percent of the outside light into the greenhouse. Opaque panels block the direct sun and diffuse other outside light. Rubber seals between the frame and the panels provide maximum insulation at the joints.

    Models

    • The Grand Gardener Clear, also called the Prestige, is a larger greenhouse with an opaque roof and walls; the 8 feet 6 inch wide, 8 feet tall structures range from 8 feet 6 inches deep to 24 feet 10 inches deep. The Grand Gardener TW is also a larger model with an opaque roof and clear sides to give the appearance of a traditional glass greenhouse. The Hobby Gardener is a mid-size model with opaque walls and roof; size range is the same as with the Grand Gardener except that the Hobby Gardener is only 6 feet 10 inches tall. The Eco-Grow is a narrower and shorter greenhouse with opaque walls and roof that is convenient for smaller gardens; width and height are 6 feet 6 inches while depth can range from 7 feet 7 inches to 12 feet 6 inches.

The front, back and middle sections of each greenhouse are packaged separately to simplify assembly. You can add middle sections to any prepackaged greenhouse to expand the growing space. You can also replace a back section with a front section to create a walk-through greenhouse with two doors.

    Accessories

    • A base made of heavy-duty honeycombed plastic with rounded corners is available for a Rion Greenhouse. Once you fill it with dirt, it is immovable and gives the greenhouse solidity. An anchor kit provides stability to the greenhouse. You can add roof vents and window louvers to your Rion Greenhouse with manual or automatic vent openers. A shade net gives extra protection to sun-sensitive plants and a heater keeps the greenhouse warm during the winter. Other accessories include tables, shelving, plant hangers, trellising systems, irrigation systems, rain gutters and solar lights.
