Shovel out the area where the roll curb will be installed. Make sure that you are digging in straight lines around the border. The curb can be as wide or as narrow as you want.
Check to make sure the ground is completely flat using the level.
Flatten the area where you have dug using the tamper. Keep checking to make sure the ground is flat with the level. If you pour a curb on ground that is not entirely flat, the concrete could break after it dries.
Saw the 1/4-inch-thick hardboard into 4-inch-wide strips. Their length does not matter, but should be sufficient to border your curb.
Place the strips of hardwood parallel to the sides of the hole you have dug for the curb. Do this so all the edges of the hole are lined with hardwood. This acts as a frame for the concrete curb.
Mix the concrete. Refer to the concrete mix's instructions for the correct amount of water to add.
Pour the concrete into the frame you made for the curb.
Smooth the top layer of the cement using the trowel.
Mold the concrete into the shape of a roll curb using the trowel. See the resources for a schematic of what a roll curb's shape looks like.
Allow the concrete to set overnight once you have formed it into shape.
Remove the hardboard frame after the concrete has completely dried.
