How to Caulk Driveways With Sikaflex

A frequent problem encountered with concrete and asphalt driveways is cracking. Depending on the specific driveway and the seasonal weather in its location, cracks can occur sooner or later but they are inevitable in the end. Sikaflex caulk can be used to patch up cracks in driveways; all that is needed to caulk your driveway with a Sikaflex caulk tube is a caulking gun and some normal household tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean any loose dirt and dust out of the crack in your driveway with a broom and then spray it out thoroughly with a hose and sprayer attachment. Allow the crack to dry completely.

    • 2

Cut the tip off the Sikaflex caulk tube with a utility knife and place the tube in your caulk gun. The diameter of the cut portion of the tip should be equal to the diameter of the crack.

    • 3

Insert the tip of the caulk tube in the crack, squeeze the trigger until caulk begins coming out, and then begin moving the caulk gun along the length of the crack until it is completely filled with Sikaflex caulk.

    • 4

Set the caulk gun aside and smooth out the caulk in the crack with the flat side of your putty knife. Once smooth, seal the tip of the Sikaflex caulk tube with plastic wrap and a rubber band and allow the caulked crack to sit undisturbed for the length of time specified on the side of the Sikaflex caulk tube.
