Instructions

    • 1

Before you dig, call 811, a free service that will come out to your building site and check for underground utility wires.

    • 2

Measure and mark the area for your project by pounding a stake into the ground at each corner and wrapping string around the stakes.

    • 3

Excavate the area eight inches deep for a walkway and 12 inches deep for a driveway. Run the plate compactor over the dirt surface to flatten it out.

    • 4

Install the gravel base material in 2-inch layers. First, add 2 inches of the gravel, covering the floor of the excavation area. Run the plate compactor over the gravel to flatten it. Add a second 2-inch layer of gravel and compact this layer as well.

    • 5

Install the edge restraints. Align the PVC edge restraints along each of the two longest sides of the area. Secure the PVC edge restraint in place with by pounding stakes outside of the finished edge.

    • 6

Lay the two 8-foot PVC pipes on top of the gravel base along each of the two longest sides. They should be on the edge of each side parallel to each other.

    • 7

Spread sand evenly in between the PVC pipes. Drag the two-by-four over the PVC pipes to create a smooth, even layer of sand. Remove the PVC pipes and fill and smooth the voids with the trowel.

    • 8

Start laying the Anchor paving stones in your desired pattern. Tap each stone into place with the rubber mallet.

    • 9

Make any necessary cuts to the Anchor pavers by marketing the paver with chalk and using a wet saw or paver splitter.

    • 10

Drag the plate compactor over the pavers to secure them in place.

    • 11

Fill the joints between the pavers with sand and use a broom to spread the sand around evenly.
