How to Harden Concrete Faster

Trying to get your concrete to dry and harden quickly can cause more problems than good in the long run. Although you may be in a hurry to get your project complete so that you can use the concrete, when freezing weather comes or extreme heat, you will be faced with cracked surfaces that need mending. Allowing the concrete to properly cure and hydrate will give you strong, hard concrete for many years to come.

     Mix your concrete per the directions on the packaging. The concrete needs to have the consistency of putty.

     Lay and form your concrete for your project. Use a trowel to level out the concrete.

     Heat the concrete by either doing the project during the hottest part of the year or using heat lamps. This will quickly dry out the concrete, causing it to harden quicker.
