Mix pavement or asphalt sealer with water in a bucket per the manufacturer's instructions.
Pour the sealant onto the pavement.
Mop the sealant with a pavement brush or mop to spread it across the surface of the pavement. Evenly coat the entire surface of the pavement.
Push the sealant with a pavement squeegee to create an even coat on the surface. You should see no lumps or mounds.
Let the seal coat dry for at least 8 hours. Depending on the humidity, temperature and sun exposure, it may take up to 24 hours for the seal coat to dry.
Sweep the pavement daily with a broom.
Fill a bucket with warm water and mild detergent. Dip a mop in the solution and thoroughly soak it. Mop the surface of the pavement to remove any dirt. Rinse the pavement with a hose. Mop the pavement once or twice a week to prevent build up and yellowing, which is the discoloring of the surface.
Mix one part hydrochloride acid with ten parts water in a bucket. Soak a pavement brush with the solution. Brush the pavement with the solution and rinse with water within two minute after application.
Mix one part chlorine with ten parts water in a bucket. Soak a pavement brush with the solution and brush the surface to keep it clean. Rinse within two minutes after applying the chlorine solution. The chlorine solution should only be used on sandstone paving.
