How to Create a Backyard Paradise With Landscape Supplies
A backyard paradise is easy to create with a few landscaping supplies. While some of these supplies can be expensive, others are inexpensive and easily attainable. To create a sanctuary there are five landscaping staples that must be present or created. First, center the design around an existing patio surface. Second, add a water feature---a full-sized pool, koi pond or fountain. Lighting is the third element and can consist of solar or LED landscape lighting. The fourth element is incorporating decorative rock. The final element is sound that can be provided by outdoor speakers.

Instructions
1
Draw out the design that is desired before purchasing the landscape supplies.
Choose an existing patio surface to serve as the base for your backyard paradise. Design the landscape plan on graph paper to scale.
2
The presence of water can create a zen type atmosphere in any back yard.
Add a water feature. Install a full-sized pool if budget and space allow. A pool creates not only recreation but also a sound element to the design. Opt for a koi pond or fountain if you have a limited budget or space.
3
Tiki torches scattered throughout the backyard can add a tropical feel.
Lighting for the landscape can take many forms. Line a garden path or patio with tiki torches for a simple design. Lay solar or LED lights throughout garden beds and around the patio to create a more complex lighting scheme.
4
A decorative boulder or statue can become a focal point in the garden.
Evaluate the existing garden beds in the back yard and decorate with landscaping rock such as a decorative boulder or stone mulch. Use stepping stones that are lit by solar or LED lights that lead to the water source or another feature in the garden.
5
Sound is a design element that can set the mood of the environment.
Place landscape speakers around the pool and/or patio area. Speakers can be hidden in structures that look like rocks to be placed in the landscaping to create a unique outdoor surround sound.
