Instructions

    • 1

Landscape around the patio or front door of the mobile home first and work your way out into the yard. Likewise, smaller plants and flowers should be around the front door and gradually get larger as you move out to the property limits.

    • 2

Place potted plants and flowers on the patio or porch. Create the illusion of a larger patio by using potted flowers in cool colors, such as Veronica, aster, geranium or lavender. Plants in containers allow you to move them around, if necessary, throughout the year.

    • 3

Conceal the foundation of the mobile home with flowering shrubs, such as roses, azaleas, hydrangea or rhododendron. Boxwood shrubs can be easily shaped and minimize the appearance of the mobile home's skirting if desired. Plant shrubs about 5 feet away from the foundation to still allow for maintenance and access to the home and keep the shrubs under 4 feet to prevent an overgrown appearance.

Place miniature tree varieties around the property line to create depth in the landscaping. Cherry and dogwood trees offer color to the landscaping while enhancing privacy.

    • 5

Lay stepping stones leading from the driveway to the porch to minimize damage caused by foot traffic to the landscaping and enhance curb appeal. Soften the look of the stones by adding ground cover, such as thyme or creeping Jenny, between each stone.
