How Do We Hook a Battery to a John Deere 2750?

The John Deere 2750 is a small utility tractor. The John Deere diesel engine requires a battery for starting. Batteries are included in the purchase of the tractor, but will need to be removed for regular maintenance or replacing. Hooking up a battery to the John Deere 2750 will only take a couple of minutes with a spanner or adjustable wrench. Practice caution when removing the battery as there is a potential for electric shock.

      Check the terminals and clamps for corrosion. If they are corroded, rinse with a solution of one part baking soda to four parts water. Dry terminals and clamps with a cloth.

      Place the battery in the battery bay. Slide the red positive (+) battery clamp over the positive terminal of the battery. Tighten the screw on the side of the clamp with the spanner or adjustable wrench.

      Place the black negative battery clamp (-) over the negative battery terminal and tighten with the spanner or adjustable wrench. Always remove and replace the negative terminal last.
